Story about a Girl
I am twenty one years old; shy at first, but once comfortable, I talk far too much and am temperamental in my moods. I have a fairly realistic attitude about life, and have learnt that to make things happen, you need the vision and the will to make it so - No one else is going to help you. I can come across a cynic but deep down I hope for the best in all situations, and probably put too much faith in people too soon.

I love to laugh and hang out with my close friends, yet I revel in the luxury of time to myself. I am stubborn in my ways and don't like to back down in an argument. I like to see myself as independent and fiercely loyal. I am very analytical but wish I were better at expressing my creative side. I'm extremely tidy and organised; yet my major flaw is procrastination. I'm a night owl and find driving (when not in traffic) therapeutic. I have one tattoo, along with a tongue piercing and want more.

Interests & Activities
I see it as vitally important to be informed, and enjoy keeping up to date with current affairs, especially political happenings. I also find history absolutely fascinating, and slightly mind-boggling when you think about how different things could be if not for a few people and events. I have specific interests in the diplomatic, political and social history of Britain, the US, Communist Russia and Eastern Europe, and a must on my to do list is to study the French Revolution as school managed to miss that out. I have a perhaps morbid fascination with wars and mistakes made during them, with Vietnam, Nixon & the Cold War among my faves. My favourite periods of history are the 1940s and 1960s, as I am drawn in by the social turmoil of both these eras; I love all aspects (fashion, design, architecture, music, cinema and society) of both classic Hollywood and the experimental sixties. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era!

I have a major film obsession, preferring dramatic, intelligent and thought provoking films. I have compiled a huge list based project of films I am working towards seeing, based around my passion for 1930s and 40s film noir, along with foreign 'art house' flicks. Movie poster design also interests me greatly, and I dream of building up a collection of vintage posters when I have the money. Shooting off from my film obsession is an interest in art and design; though I appreciate traditional art, I mainly prefer contemporary art, pop art, installation art and using film for artistic purposes. Design wise I love retro furniture & Art Deco

I also love music and my taste is pretty wide ranging; mostly centred around metal and 1980s-90s noise rock & punk, there is some math-metal, soundscape, classic rock, classical piano, electronica, dubstep and jazz thrown in for good measure. I also have a 'slight' obsession with Bob Dylan. I have played piano since I was aged eight and I'm trying to learn guitar, though its slow progress. I enjoy reading comics and graphic novels, though I aim to read much more than I do, and am working towards a book project centered around modern-classics and non-fiction historical works - finding the time however is difficult.

Love & Loathing
Extremely prone to obsessions I LOVE: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Spike, Spuffy, Angel, The Wire, Nine Inch Nails, Film Noir, Anne Rice, Art Deco, Marlon Brando, Bob Dylan & Christian Bale.

I am loathe to selfishness, early mornings, religion and what it makes people do, superficial and ignorant people.

Beliefs
Equality. Positive Liberty. Opportunity. Gay Marriage. Pro-Choice. Romance is dead. Realism. Rationality. That death is the end.
